4. Irish government recognition of National Minority 

Page 63 “A commitment and timetable from the Irish government to recognise Ulster-Scots as a national minority no longer than eighteen months of this.”

“Support from the Irish government for comparable work in Ireland as detailed in Recommendation 1 (e) above. (NI Executive) “

Speaking as a Donegal Ulster-Scot I welcome this recommendation.  

The traditional absence of bespoke Human Rights recognitions and protections has helped foster a long-standing reticence to stray beyond the boundaries set by the majority ruling group, to the detriment of cultural identity.
